Our team at U.S. Code Compliance has been proudly serving the state of Florida for many years, and we want to help you protect your home. When the time comes to renew your home insurance policy, you will most likely be required to schedule a 4-point inspection to assess your home’s current condition. In this article, we will provide an overview of what a 4-point inspection is and what it covers.

What Is a 4-Point Inspection?

  • Roofing – The first point in a 4-point inspection is the roof. Our team will examine the roof of your home to assess its condition and determine if it is strong enough to withstand a hurricane. Depending on the state and age of your roof, your insurance company may require additional documentation vouching for its remaining useful lifespan.
  • Electrical – During your 4-point inspection, our team will also examine your electrical wiring. We’ll take note of any possible hazards, such as faulty connections or exposed wires.
  • Plumbing – The third thing our team will look at during a 4-point inspection is your plumbing. We will inspect the water heater, pipes, and other components, taking note of their age and condition. Our team will check for leaks, and we will document our findings, along with notes about any work that has been done on your plumbing system.
  • HVAC – The fourth and last point of a 4-point inspection is your HVAC system. Our team will look at your air conditioning, heating, and ventilation to make sure the system is in good condition. We’ll also examine any fireplaces or gas stoves.
